Turbo Sport winner of the Seascape sailboat regatta 

From 28th February to 1st March, the international regatta “Murter Seascape fleet race cup 1” was held on Murter, under the sponsorship of North Spirit. There were 8 sailboats in the regatta, and the winner was Turbo sport team with the coxswain Tonko Rameša. The runner up was Andraž Mihelin’s team, and the third place went to the team of Šime Stipaničev.

Anent the victory, the coxswain of Turbo sport team Rameša said: „It is a great feeling to win in the first regatta which took place on Murter, where I live. For many years I have been participating in regattas on the Adriatic, but Murter regatta was extremely attractive since this type of boat demands of the crew and coxswain to do their best to beat their opponents. Seascape sailboats are distinguished by their simplicity and equal speed through the regatta field so that the tactics of a team become visible and each mistake counts. I expect other racing sailors to join this class, which would improve the quality of competition even further.

This international regatta was also the world promotion of the new class of sailboats called Seascape. Seascape is a small sailboat, popular with the customers, for sport sailing and leisure. It is 5.5 metres long, with the speed of 20 knots. This sailboat is Croatian-Slovenian product with French designer signature, and it was manufactured in Murter shipbuilding school. The product has been developed for two years, and the chief consultant on the project was Croatian sailing champion - Tomislav Bašić.

Today Bašić is the coxswain on Turbo sport team and prior to the start of the season announces that this year Turbo sport team will compete in match race regattas. The points won in these regattas are included in the placement on the world list. At the moment, in the world list, among 1700 coxswains from the whole world, Turbo sport team is in high 28th position.
